Privacy Policy

Effective: January 1, 2026 Last updated: July 2, 2026 Applies to: robloxtakedowns.com and case intake email

This policy explains what information we collect when you visit this site or send us a report, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. Case evidence often includes sensitive details about other people — we treat it carefully, and expect you to as well.

SEC. 01

Overview

RobloxTakedowns ("we," "us," "our") operates robloxtakedowns.com and a case-intake email address to help people report and escalate abusive Roblox accounts, groups, and experiences. This policy covers the information we collect through the website and through cases submitted to us, and applies wherever you're located.

We are not affiliated with Roblox Corporation, and this policy does not cover how Roblox Corporation handles data — see their own privacy policy for that.

SEC. 02

Information we collect

Information you provide directly

  • Contact details — your email address, and any name or callback information you choose to share.
  • Case content — the account of what happened, usernames and profile links, screenshots, chat or voice-chat logs, video clips, and any other evidence you attach to a report.
  • Correspondence — the content of any follow-up emails between you and our case team.

Information collected automatically

  • Basic site usage data — such as pages visited, browser type, and approximate location inferred from IP address, collected through standard web server logs and, if enabled, privacy-focused analytics.
  • Email metadata — sender address, timestamps, and routing information attached to messages you send us.
Third-party content in your report

Case evidence frequently includes information about other people — the reported user's account details, or messages exchanged with them. We treat that information as part of the case file, subject to this policy, and use it only to evaluate and escalate the report.

SEC. 03

How we use this information

  • To review, verify, and prioritize the cases submitted to us.
  • To prepare and submit escalations to Roblox Corporation's Trust & Safety team, law enforcement, or other relevant third parties.
  • To correspond with you about the status of your case.
  • To detect and prevent fraudulent, abusive, or bad-faith reports.
  • To maintain the security and integrity of our systems.
  • To understand aggregate trends in the abuse reported to us — for example, which types of scams are most common — without singling out individuals in any published trend data.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use case evidence to build advertising profiles.

SEC. 04

Legal bases for processing

Where privacy law requires us to identify a legal basis for processing (for example, under the GDPR), we rely on:

  • Your consent, given when you voluntarily submit a report to us;
  • Our legitimate interests in operating a safety-reporting service and protecting the security of our systems and users; and
  • Legal obligation, where we're required to disclose information to law enforcement or another authority.
SEC. 05

Who we share information with

RecipientWhy
Roblox CorporationTo submit escalated cases through their Trust & Safety or law-enforcement-response channels.
Law enforcementWhere conduct reported to us appears to involve a crime, or where we're legally compelled to disclose information.
Service providersEmail hosting, and website infrastructure providers who process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
Successor entitiesIn the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to the same protections described here.

We do not share your case information with unrelated third parties for their own marketing purposes.

SEC. 06

How long we keep it

We retain case files, including evidence and correspondence, for as long as needed to evaluate the report, pursue escalation, and respond to any follow-up from Roblox Corporation or law enforcement — generally no longer than 24 months after a case is closed, unless we're required to retain it longer for legal reasons, or you ask us to delete it sooner under Section 9.

Basic website server logs are typically retained for a much shorter period, usually 90 days, for security and troubleshooting purposes.

SEC. 07

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards — including access controls and encryption in transit — to protect the information you send us. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security. If you're submitting highly sensitive evidence, consider redacting anything not necessary to support your report.

SEC. 08

Children's privacy

Our service is intended to be used by adults, or by minors with the direct involvement of a parent or guardian. We don't knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without parental involvement. If you believe a child has submitted a report to us without a parent or guardian's involvement, contact us at privacy@robloxtakedowns.com and we will review and, where appropriate, delete the submission.

Because cases frequently concern conduct directed at minors, we handle any information identifying a minor with particular care, limiting its use strictly to evaluating and escalating the report.

SEC. 09

Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you and request a copy of it;
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate information;
  • Ask us to delete your information, subject to our need to retain case records for legal or safety reasons described in Section 6;
  • Withdraw consent for us to continue processing a case you submitted, though this may mean we can no longer pursue that escalation;
  • Object to certain processing, or ask us to restrict it.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@robloxtakedowns.com. We'll respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity first.

SEC. 10

Cookies & analytics

This site uses only minimal, privacy-respecting analytics to understand overall traffic — we do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. If that changes, we'll update this section and, where required by law, ask for your consent first.

SEC. 11

International transfers

We're based in the United States, and information you send us — including case evidence — may be processed and stored there or in other countries where our service providers operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for transferring information across borders.

SEC. 12

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, note the change on this page or notify you directly if you have an open case with us.
